    November 26 at the House of Culture of the Perm State University students held a holiday “Cyber Day”, dedicated to the students and teachers of the department of Information Systems and Mathematical Methods in Economics.

    This unique event, which was held at the site of the Small Hall and the House of Culture in the lobby, included a department head DL Andrianov welcome speech , an open lecture “The use of physics to the study of social and economic systems» of Prof. Fabrizio Lillo (University of Palermo, Scuola Normale Superiori odi Pise, Santa Fe Institute), rewarding students for their achievements in science and education, as well as the active participation in the events of ISMME department, buffet and creative performances of students of the Faculty of Economics.

    ISMME Department thanks to all who helped in the organization of the “Cyber Day”: Natalia Pechenkina, Vyacheslav Arbuzov and band “Black Jack”, Nikita Suetin, Andrew Antoshin, Julia Mizgireva, Ananstasiya Byachkovoy and Ilya Shabunin. Lecture by Professor Lillo launched a new educational project of “PROGNOZ» – Open Lectures, aimed at promoting the research and discoveries in the field of mathematical modeling, analysis and forecasting of socio-economic processes.

    On November 29, 2012 an international student conference on financial modeling FinMod-2012 on the basis of the Faculty of Economics PSU was held. The conference was attended by 35 people from Russia, Italy, China and India.

    Subject performances include research in the field of hybrid models of the financial market, the use of multifractal processes for forecasting volatility, engineering structured products, yield forecasting based on neural networks, econometric models of the financial sector and etc. Members of the Scientific Committee of the conference were Prof. Fabrizio Lillo (Scuola Normale Superiori, Perm State University), Victor Lapshin (Laboratory for Financial Engineering and Risk Management FERM LAB HSE) and Sergei Ivliev (Perm State University, the company Prognoz). The best report by the Scientific Committee opinioin  was the report by Anastasia Byachkova “Modeling Financial Market by percolation theory” which awarded a special prize. Participants in the event warmly and gratefully reviewed of past events.
